that's pretty awesome. i'd like to do NY maybe next year or 2008. is this your first marathon? were u one of the lucky ones to get in thru the lottery or are u running with a charity? in either case, i want to wish u the best of luck! it'll be an unforgettable experience.
Thanks! This is my second marathon. The first time was also NYC. I lived in NYC and pre-qualified for the 2005 marathon by running 9 qualifying NYRR races in 2004. I canceled my 2005 entry because I was busy getting married, and canceled entries are allowed automatic entry the following year, which brings us to 2006.
But yes, you should totally run it if you get the chance. It's an amazing race and like you said, an unforgettable experience.
oh. u're a running veteran! :) what was ur chip time the first time, if u don't mind me asking? what r u shooting for this time?
u should definitely check out Chicago too if u ever get a chance. this is my first year running it, but i've watched it a couple of times when friends were running it. amazing crowd support, like NY. and a fast, scenic course!

The first time, my time was 5:12. I'm shooting for 4:30 this year. Slow and steady. :)
